Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

Using the alpha3 liveCD, the pluginfinder reports success when it fails to install.

On the stock install, when visiting a page with flash, the plugin finder suggests you add the multiverse repository. Hitting 'ok' brings up an error dialog saying that it couldn't. Dismissing the dialog brings up the "completing the plugin finder service" window which says the flashplayer installation was successful.

Adding the repositories manually yields another error (about not being able to find flashplugin-nonfree) and the same "success" window from the plugin finder service.

I see the same on failed on java plugin installations on Jaunty Beta (uptodte as of 11th April)
I get a dialouge giving the error and then I get

'Firefox finished installing the missing plugins: ..... Installed'

I've had that for GSJ Web Browser and an IcedTea case - I'm going to file separate ones about there issues, but the issue of it giving an 'installed' success when it hasn't is seperable.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Is this still a problem with the release version of Jaunty?
