Bug Description

The driver has been updated (Bug 315169), but the nvidia-settings package is comparatively ancient, dating back to:

 ii nvidia-settings 177.78-0ubuntu2.1 Tool of configuring the NVIDIA graphics driv

Confirmed with:

 $ apt-cache show nvidia-settings
 Package: nvidia-settings
 Priority: optional
 Section: x11
 Installed-Size: 1992
 Maintainer: Ubuntu MOTU Developers <email address hidden>

Hi noel-devtech,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

Bryce, yours may be an automated message, but what does lspci -vvnn have to do with the fact that the package in the repository hasn't been updated in ages?

Has nothing to do with lspci. It is a report about an outdated package.
