Bug Description

Binary package hint: alltray

AllTray should add a title-bar context-menu item, 'Dock', which would perform the docking action. It should be integrated into windows just like 'Always on Top' is.

Thank you for your bug report.

It will be a little while before I can do this, because I have a list of things that I need to do (including transitioning it fully to Launchpad, and performing some cleanups and refactoring) before I attempt to add features.

Taking another look at this, I am not (entirely) sure how doable this is. Is there a WM-independent way to add window actions to windows so as to make this possible? Does anyone know of other applications that can do this to other apps?

The fix for this is targeted for 0.7.4dev. At the time of the 0.7.4dev release, either this bug will be fixed or it will be marked “invalid”, if a fix is not possible.

Changed in alltray:
milestone: none → 0.7.4dev

As best as I can tell, there is no way to implement this is a window-manager generic fashion, which means that it isn't going to be implemented at all at this time (as AllTray does not do WM or DE-specific kludges, and hasn't the support for it).

If a way to do this becomes possible, a new bug requesting this feature can be filed, preferably with pointers to the information that makes the implementation possible.

Forgot to mark this invalid in AllTray (ubuntu) as well. Doing so now.
