Bug Description

I use timer-applet in French, but it lacks many translations, although the translations exists in Launchpad. For example, it's written in the timer-applet main window:

Save as Preset

but the translation still exists:

English: S_ave as Preset
Current French: _Enregistrer comme une présélection
Translated and reviewed by Bruno Bord on 2007-11-07
https://translations.launchpad.net/timer-applet/head/+pots/timer-applet/fr/23/+translate

It's the same thing for many translations, like Start Timer, Manage Presets, Preferences, About, Play notification sound...

My config: timer-applet 2.0.1, Gnome 2.24.1, Ubuntu 8.10

I have the same bug (translations broken) with the gcolor2 package. It seems to be a larger problem than just timer-applet.

same here I've just installed it and the German Translation is totally broken, too. German is completely translated in launchpad, almost all since 2007. I've also looked in the .orig.tar.gz and the translation are included. I think they are missing in language translation package, because the translations are assigned to the package itself here in launchpad not to the ubuntu package.

Translated strings from data/TimerApplet.xml are not being displayed when application is running.

The problems seem to be within intltool. Needs more research.
