Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-backports-modules-hardy

The number of bug reports and forum discussions regarding the applesmc module is quite large. The 2.6.27 version of applesmc solves a lot of problems, so backporting it to Hardy seems like a good idea.

Alternatively, it could be viewed as a SRU request on the 2.6.24 kernel?

I imagine there is some LBM magic needed to make it work; this is just the bare-bone module.

applesmc does not seem to be present in linux-backports-modules-2.6.24-21.27, although it is present in the git tree of the save version. Bump problem?
