Bug Description

Valknut has no reason at all to put its icon in the notificationarea. It has no purpose.
Upon rightclicking on the icon, I am given the option to Exit. That is *not* the way to use the notificationarea. I dont mind if gajim and other programs use it, since they is sort of usefull there. In gajim I can change workspace etc, and all the time see if I have messages in the quee etc. But for Valknut, it serves no purpose. And there for it should be removed.

LATEST VERSION TESTED:
0.3.11-0ubuntu2 on Hardy Heron

Does it not allow you to hide it in the tray?

Well. Upun leftclicking on the icon in the notificationarea Valknut will hide. Im not sure if I can say "hide to the tray". It hides completly. The only sign of it then is the icon in the notificationarea.

If I rightclick on the icon in the notificationarea I get to only one option and it is to exit the application.

To me this seems like a very bad useage of the notificationarea.

I cant see any reason for this usage of the notificationarea. If it does not use it for more than either to hide the application or to exit it, then it should not use the notificationarea at all. It clutters the panel. And as fare as I know there is not even a way to turn it off :(

Well, some people liek to hide long running applications in the system tray (i do)
it should probably be a preference, but this is really an upstream bug, i will send it upstream.

This is now configurable in 0.4.9 - the user has the option to hide the notification icon. So I'm closing this.
