Sure, we'd accept to support lpia. The thing is, we don't have any lpia system to build those packages, so I think it's not going to happen. Sorry

Cheers

Err. That would be actually possible, I was confused. We'll discuss it and let you informed :)

Indeed one of the lpia systems are atom based ones. If you can find one, then you will have the system.

Or there is another solution that is i may contribute to you about lpia support. I have got a lpia system already and if you help and show me the way i may try to give help to you.

Thanks for your offer. Anyway, I don't think it will be possible. I guess we need direct access to the builders to avoid depending on some people. But, as I'm not one of the packagers, wait for some other answers :)

Cheers

For intrepid, that's in progress. For hardy, as it has already been released, we won't update the arches list.

Thanx for taking my bug into consideration. The thing is my lpia system is working currently on Hardy, and there will be new products on the market soon running Hardy on lpia systems, believe me :)

Just wanted to put in my two cents....virtually all netbooks that run Ubuntu run Ubuntu Netbook Remix that is based on hardy 8.4.

Apart from Ubuntu-8.10-mid-lpia that as far as i know is designed for hand held devices, there are no versions of Ubuntu that use ibex as a base.
Producers of hardware are certainly going to prefer using a LTS version of Ubuntu rather than something that in 18 months will no longer be supported.... even Canonical states:

"Canonical has collaborated with Intel and is working with a number of OEM's to deliver Ubuntu on netbooks in retail"
and
"In addition to the Ubuntu Netbook Remix there will be pre-installed remixes made available on manufacturer's machines. These will contain software that is not free and built for specific hardware profiles unique to the OEM"

as you can probably see building a repo for lpia packages under Hardy might not be such a bad idea

I'm currently rebuilding and uploading lpia packages to the staging area. You can get them by adding the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ hardy-staging free non-free

If they work fine, I'll move them to the stable repository (with the other architectures).

I haven't added them yet, as I'm don't know whether they'll work or not on lpia...

I just added w32codecs. Moreover, lpia packages should show up on http://packages.medibuntu.org/hardy/index.html (already today, or tomorrow after the next update).
