This crash has the same stack trace characteristics as bug #251347. However, the latter was already fixed in an earlier package version than the one in this report. This might be a regression or because the problem is in a dependent package.

it happened again and i was redirected to my own bug again and again
so it shows that it is not a regression !

Then I get a window that says "looking for controllers" and a progress bar, but never seems to get anywhere.

How did you invoke jockey? Just "jockey-gtk"?

I currently set the timeout to 10 minutes; did it actually take more
than that (which would be very weird), or is the timeout change just
not working for you?

Please keep this report closed, it has 64 duplicates and thus any action on it creates quite a lot of spam.

It is fine to send new apport reports for similar timeouts. Unfortunately they all have quite similar titles :-(

Re your email to me,
so far I haven't had anymore crashes after the initial web update to 08.10b
from 08.04.1 (KDE Resources needed installing & the grub boot loader needed
rewriting, I also upgraded to Python 3) & what Ive already posted. Switching
of desktop effects seemed to solve my other problem of disappearing icons
from the windows border.
 I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Intel graphics X3100 (GM965) &
Broadcom wifi.
