With Ubuntu intrepid fully upgraded
Today after Thunderbird upgrade ( mozilla-thunderbird 2.0.0.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu1) i get this error at Thunderbird startup:

Added package ubuntu since i was able to confirm thunderbird is not the issue. leaving tbird task so im able to find bug faster

not sure if it is the right package i was trying for ubuntu as package(blank ackage) but it wouldnt let me. Most of the updates this afternoon after i last used tbird were gnome libs and apps.

I am including my term output for you to look at--on a cursory look, we are getting the same. I has Thunderbird open whilst doing the last group of upgrades--It became unstable & I needed to force-quit. Next time I got the ooutput below. I will look at what my last upgrade was & post it.

Apt Log taken whilst Thunderbird was last running--at the install end Thunderbird became unstable & needed to be force-quit. On a side note: I can no longer mount removable USB stick media. Is it possible that GVFS is causing some of these problems?

I'm still having this issue, while I would presume that the bugfix would have gotten to the mirror by now.
the current update with ubuntu through "sudo aptitude reinstall thunderbird" is:
thunderbird_2.0.0.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1_i386.deb

It has, I have been using it for a few days. It is probably your mirror that is a bit slow to sync.

Here is the result of the build:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/thunderbird/2.0.0.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

And it is always possible to download the resulting binaries directly from launchpad, here is an example for the i386 build. You need to change it depending on your architecture.

 Yes install all the packages you need as depends or change your
sources.list to use gb or uk mirrors see below for an example:

deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main restricted
deb-src http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid main restricted
