Bug Description
It is a standard in other distros. Why Ubuntu should differ in this regard?
glxgears is mainly used for testing hardware graphics acceleration. When it
doesn't output the FPS, user can't say how well the acceleration performs.
What's worse glxgears has no --help nor man, apropos doesn't help either.
I (former Mandriva user) was quite puzzled honestly, at first I thought there
was no FPS output because of some failure. What's more the wheels seemed to be
moving slow. After I finally found out on the net that I have to use -printfps,
I saw it was only an illusion, as they were actually moving very fast, FPS over
3400.
So, please alias glxgears to "glxgears -printfps" by default.
