Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

I'm reporting a new bug as a general request for sponsoring and approval for a stable release update for ubuntu-docs in hardy. Ideally, we'd like this to be uploaded in time for the point release.

The source package is available from https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-doc/ubuntu-doc/ubuntu-hardy (just get the branch and do debbuild -S)

The bugs fixed are: bug 220889 (error in korean translation of the browser startpage), bug 222987 (broken link to gthumb help file, not installed by default), bug 231367 (broken tag causes document not to load), and bug 153124 (errors in the catalan translation of the browser startpage)

The fixes are all relatively simple fixes and I can't think of any risk that problems could be caused.

I have built and tested the package on hardy and it works fine.

I'll attach a debdiff. Unfortunately it shows other minor changes to po files and the Makefile and xsl stylesheets which were made to our branch after the last upload to hardy, however these were made in order to build our online documentation, and don't affect the binary package in the distribution. I hope it can still be considered.

This SRU request has been waiting for well over 3 months now. If there is something wrong with it, it would be great to get an indication of what! I'm bumping the importance up to High to see if that can solicit a response but if that is inappropriate then please downgrade it...

Oh, of course it is ok. The usual SRU workflow is now to get the package uploaded, seems there just was a misunderstanding about that this needs sponsoring. I'll look into that tomorrow.

Martin: thanks. I thought that I needed SRU approval before getting the package uploaded. I'll subscribe ubuntu-main-sponsors then.

I've tested the package in hardy-proposed on several locales and it works fine. I'd be grateful if the sru-verification team could do the same.

I've done a quick test by browsing the help with the ca_ES.UTF-8 locale and it seems to be fine (i.e. the usual user experience, no crashes).

I could not see any new translations, though. Just out of interest, at which point in time were the Rosetta translations exported for this update?
