Bug Description

uname(*) provides are handled by RPM at runtime and there is no package providing these. For example uname(release) means the version of _currently_ _running_ kernel. Attached patch turns off dep resolution for uname(*).

Applied to bzr head, thank you!

BTW, there is an existing fedora branch of apport, currently oned by Will Woods. Please feel free to continue to use this branch (or create a new one). I'm happy to merge fixes from them to trunk regularly, or whenever you ask me to.

I'm a PLD Linux dev so I'd rather not break Fedora's branch. We are mostly fine with the Ubuntu released tarballs. The only thing I could ask for would be announcing the releases and tarballs anywhere outside of Debian world ;)

Indeed 'upstreamizing' apport has been on my TODO list for a loong
time already, especially since it can run on a vanilla upstream kernel
(since 2.6.22 IIRC). However, there are still Ubuntu specific things
in some auxiliary programs like the chroot builders and the retracer.
I guess I'll just rip those out from the upstream trunk and only keep
them in the ubuntu branch, until I find a way to generalize them.

Thanks for the poke. It's nice to know that apport has an use outside
of Ubuntu! :)
