Bug Description

Binary package hint: kubuntu-kde4-desktop

After installing Kubuntu-kde4 beta from livecd (and in fact on the livecd as well), I found that many programs are missing. Also in many menus, konqueror complains that many shared libraries are missing. and I fixed it by installing the basic kde4 packages included in the metapackages "kde4"

The liveCD at the current stage looks unusable and scares beginner away. To solve this problem, the metapackage "kde4" should *definitely* be included as a dependency of kubuntu-kde4-desktop so that it will work out-of-the-box.

Actually the proposed solution is working around the problem, not sovling it... if you install a singe KDE 4 package which pulls in desktop files without the libs the issue will still be there.

Because of this the report shouldn't be against kubuntu-kde4-meta but the appropriate KDE 4 packages which are effected by this issue.

You are right, Harald, the dependency bugs are in the individual KDE4 packages, not in kubuntu-kde4-meta. Moreover, the most recent konqueror-kde4 and systemsettings-kde4 have already fixed the problems by including the missing dependent core library packages.
