I tried to obtain a backtrace, but the program behavior was somewhat changed.

Normally, when exiting (closing or rebooting computer), it would segfault and ask to report the bug. No more than an annoyance, since I was trying to exit anyway.

With GDB attached, trying to exit resulted in a failure to exit and then an inability to respond to all further commands (including gui interaction, kill, etc.)

This is my backtrace, though I don't know how helpful it will be. I'm very new to this.

maybe some of the gnome aplication needs tomboy to run.

so even u didn't install the tomboy, but still some part of tomboy is running in our computer.

for exp. I dont need and I didnt install the KDE-desktop ever, but, some software need KDE-BASE to run.

so. thats why u didnt install tomboy but still upload an erro.

Johannes- See above. You need to unsubscribe from the bug you originally
submitted which was marked a duplicate of this one.

Any hints how to find out which is the duplicate bug which I am supposed to have been originally subscribed to?

I cannot find it among the bugs I have reported, neither is it listed among my subscriptions (I suspect that dupes are hidden from that list) and most duplicates are private and I cannot examine them. Among the duplicates of this bug I cannot find any submitted by myself.

This really sucks.

I'm fine with it like it is, but, it seems like fwyw, it would be even
better to have an unsubscribe link in the email itself, or at the very
least, a link directly to a page that has an unsubscribe link. Maybe
you should file a bugreport on launchpad itself.

According to the changelog, this is in part fixed in gtk-sharp2 2.12.0-2ubuntu2:

gtk-sharp2 (2.12.0-2ubuntu2) hardy; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/02_quit-prepare.dpatch:
    + Add Gtk.Application.QuitPrepare event that allows to execute a delegate
      just before the GTK mainloop is stopped. Preparation of a fix for
      LP #199496. Patch from Mike Kestner.
  * debian/rules:
    + Update API_VERSION to 2.12.0-2ubuntu2 for the above change.

 -- Sebastian Droege < <email address hidden>> Mon, 14 Apr 2008 18:29:58 +0200

And the rest of the fix happened in gnome-sharp2:

gnome-sharp2 (2.20.0-2ubuntu2) hardy; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/02_program-dispose-before-quit.dpatch:
    + Dispose Gnome.Program before we quit the main loop and let us get rid of
      our toggle ref. Otherwise libgnome will unref the global Gnome.Program
      instance in an atexit() handler, calling back into managed code which
      doesn't exist anymore after the call to exit(). This then causes
      a segfault when exiting the application (LP: #199496).
      Patch from Mike Kestner.
  * debian/control:
    + Require libgtk2.0-cil (>= 2.12.0-2ubuntu2) for the above change.
