Bug Description

Binary package hint: lirc

On Kubuntu Gutsy as well as Hardy, upgrading the LIRC package overwrites/resets lircd's config files without asking or making a backup copy.

Affected files:
/etc/lirc/hardware.conf
/etc/lirc/lircd.conf

not applicable for lircd.conf:

From lirc.postinst:

        #if we have an existing file, back it up
        if [ -f "/etc/lirc/lircd.conf" ]; then
                mv /etc/lirc/lircd.conf /etc/lirc/lircd.conf.dpkg-old
        fi

For hardware.conf, i'll add a fix though.
