Window Manager Settings and Window Manager Tweaks no longer shown in Xubuntu Settings menu

We did this on purpose.
All these desktop files are duplicates of the "Settings Manager" items, so we are removing these to clean the menu. Only a few xfce apps (xfce4-{mixer,session,panel}) still install these desktop files.

Sounds reasonable, however, there still are a lot of applications in the menu: http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/1186/menunh7.png

This but is in a mysterious state, what should or should not be done? Who would like what done?

On an up-to-date hardy system, only xfce4-panel installs a desktop file to the settings menu.

This bug was fixed in the package xfce4-panel - 4.4.2-3ubuntu1
