Unable to join to active directory after KB5008380/CVE-2021-42287

Please build a test package for Ubuntu, like the one posted in the Redhat BZ for RHEL

https://launchpad.net/~ahasenack/+archive/ubuntu/adcli-1962203 is building a jammy package with those two commits from Sumit, untested

I can confirm that it seems to work now with Ubuntu 22.04

Would it be possible to fix this issue for 18.04 and 20.04 and give a time frame too?

It's very problematic for enterprises when stuff like this just stops working and not fixed in a timely manner.

The upstream bug is not fully closed yet (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/realmd/adcli/-/issues/27).

We can probably build test packages for bionic and focal, but I'm unsure about an official SRU at this time.

Thanks for your reply and I think that many people would appreciate some workarounds.

Also I feel like letting off a little steam, hope it's okay I do it here.

I'm a big fan of what Canonical and other Linux vendors in the industry have done so far to support Active Directory, but when stuff like this just breaks for months and no updates are issued and there is little to no communication, it's a disaster, it is really hard to advocate the Linux desktop for enterprises in a world were Active Directory is the industry standard.

I'm working with the IT department at my workplace (Technical University of Denmark) regarding offering Ubuntu for employees, but this has delayed the project for many months and I'm obviously worried that something similar will happen again.

Did you mean the jammy packages from https://launchpad.net/~ahasenack/+archive/ubuntu/adcli-1962203, or the normal samba packages from the ubuntu jammy release? Because I did not add the upstream patches for this issue to the jammy packages in ubuntu yet, just to that ppa.

Just the normal packages, I did not install from your PPA.
