Bug Description

When I open synaptic - get message that there is a broken package - list - shows
abiword-plugins-gnome as broken, click edit - fix broken packages - says broken
package fixed and marks it for upgrade. If I close synaptic - and reopen it I
get the broken package message again. If I upgrade the package the process
appears to happen - no error messages, but on completion it is still marked for
upgrade - I cannot upgrade other packages - I cannot remove abiword-plugins-gnome.

Thanks for your bugreport and thanks for the additional information.

This looks very much like a hardware problem to me. Breakage in the status file
may be bad ram or a bad cpu/mainboard. It's probably a good idea to run memtest
and try to stress the computer (by e.g. compiling the kernel a few times) and
see if that breaks as well.

I changed the bugtitle accordingly.

This bug seems abandoned, and no one else has commented anything else on it for nine months. It looks like a personal glitch from David's machine, as no one else reported anything related.
