Hello Firat,
The message:
P4 Clockmod is intentionally disabled
is given because Pentium 4 processors are limited in their scaling ability---the
throttling is there merely to prevent thermal meltdown and does not actually
save power. P4-clockmod is hack to (ab)use the throttling in the chip; the
disadvantage being that it introduces latencies during normal use with no actual
gain.
As such, it /should/ be disabled and powernowd not needed to be started. I'm
intrigued by message about 'restart' working to start 'powernowd', even if there
is nothing to do. Could you provide output from:
/sbin/lmsod | grep -Ei '(p4|acpi|cpu)'
and we may be able to see if a module is getting loaded anyway.
