Bug Description

If the user selects an invalid directory from the previous projects drop down list on the Start page, a ValueError occurs:

ValueError: list.remove(x): x not in list

An invalid directory is a directory that:
- no longer exists
- is no longer accessible (permissions issue)
- now points to a remote file system
- now resides on a file system that does not support Linux customization (FAT, NTFS, etc.)
