libdvdcss on 64bit ubuntu gutsy is not detected

Bug Description

Hey,

I installed the medibuntu repository on both 32bit and 64bit ubuntu gutsy on my workstation, and libdvdcss, once installed, is detected by Totem, VLC, etc... on the 32 bit version but not on the 64bit version, so impossible to read a DVD on Ubuntu Gutsy amd64.

If I can help with providing some more informations, I would be glad to do it, just tell me what you need or what to do.

Actually, so efter testing several applications on 32bit et 64bit Ubuntu Gutsy, it works well with Ogle. But it is not working well with Totem (sound but no video), VLC and Mplayer (only default language works and crash if you want to setup another language, exemple, french for me)

I can confirm this bug.

I had to use the script: "sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh" in order to get dvd playback to properly work.

Could this possibly be fixed?

I tried both the installation script and the medibuntu package. I think
that part of the problem is a newer css protection which occurs on some
DVDs (e.g. "Stardust" by Paramount). These DVDs cannot be decrypted
while others work fine...

There is a new upstream release available. It'll be merged from debian-multimedia.
This should probably fix this bug.
