Using breezy colony 3 or so, glabels hangs when you create an image and then select an image file to import.

Confirmed on latest Breezy
glabels 2.0.2-3

This is the error it spits up:

*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0xb7d1ad80 ***

My gdb-foo seems to be insufficient, can't get a backtrace.

I can't reproduce with 2.1.1-1 found in Dapper.

What kind of picture are you trying to import?

I can confirm this happens on Breezy.
Any "normal" image files gives this result: gif, jpg, png.
I've tried various sizes and resolutions, and all get the above-mentioned "invalid pointer" error.

I can confirm in Breezy, with GIMP-produced jpg, png & gif, and also with Inkscape-produced svg (to be fair, I'm not sure gLabels will even support SVG at all...)

I get a consistent lockup within the Import Image dialogue every time I try it.

There's a workaround I found in another bug listing:
Run glabels with: MALLOC_CHECK_=1 glabels &
Now you can import images. The error still occurs, but it doesn't freeze the system.
I set my menu item (in KDE) to run the application as follows:
MALLOC_CHECK_=1 glabels %F
This allows it to run from the menu, and you can associate filetype .glabels to this and it will let you import images.

I confirm the freeze in Breezy.

I also confirm the "MALLOC_CHECK" workaround.

ATM, the easiest way to workaround this bug is simply to install the dapper version of glabels *and* glabels-data, version 2.1.1-1. (Those packages don't depend of anything else in dapper so it's pretty safe and a downgrade would be easy).

Yes I confirm the freeze in Breezy.

and I also confirm the "MALLOC_CHECK" workaround.

That bug is supposed to be fixed with glabels 2.1.2, I'm closing it. Feel free to reopen if you still get the issue
