{"authenticated": false, "external_auth_url": null} when trying to login to the UI

Steps:

Installed eaon on new lxd container
cloned MAAS git repo
built packages
installed packages
maas init

and then when trying to go to http://<ip-of-maas-server>:5240/MAAS

I get the error:

Showing up in the browser, and then when I try to refresh the page I get 405 errors with

Method Not Allowed
