Christian, could you possibly let us know what kernel version you're running?
Does the caps lock light work after resume?

Looks like it, yes.

Somebody else (in bug #33612) found this might have been related to whether their bluetooth dongle is inserted/enabled. Does that make a difference for you?

I'm sorry, I don't have inserted any external devices at all. All usb ports are unused.

Reinhard, the cause for these bugs varies massively between systems - can you open a separate bug for yours? R50e ought to work, so it would help if we could trace that separately.

Christian, you never answered my question about caps lock lights working while the screen is blank.

Oh sorry, must have forgotten. I tried to suspend just now with
gnome-power-manager and banshee running. Sound didn't come back and the
caps lock led didn't got turned on.

Christian,
Did you try any of these boot parameters:

acpi_sleep=s3_bios
or
acpi_sleep=s3_mode
or
acpi_sleep=s3_bios,s3_mode

Leandro A. F. Pereira (lafp) wrote :

Pascal, I've tried those boot parameters, but my laptop (Toshiba M45 S165) also cannot resume from suspend. No matter what parameter I use, the screen remains black, I can hear the DVD drive being accessed, the power LED changes from a glowing yellow to the "on" green and the Caps- and Num-lock LEDs blinks.

However, I hear no booting beep, caps/num lock cannot be toggled, and I need to remove and insert the battery so the laptop may be used again.

I'm on a stock 6.10 (386) system (updated from a clean 6.06 install), no devices plugged in, no third party drivers. BIOS has been updated to 1.50. I can provide the DSDT, dmesg and any other necessary information, if needed.

Thanks,

I have the same the screen is black and the system don't respond at all. All I can do is to CTRL+ALT+DEL to make it reboot.

But if I add "Option *VBERestore" "true"* to the xorg.conf file it works.

Using Dell D610 laptop, Intel graphic 91x ser.
Driver i810
Dapper 6.06.1
Kernel 2.6.15-27-686

Have always had this issue on dapper.
