Bug Description

On https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/samba-dc.html.en it says:

"Although it cannot act as an Active Directory Primary Domain Controller (PDC), a Samba server can be configured to appear as a Windows NT4-style domain controller."

Does that mean using samba as an AD DC on an Ubuntu 18.04 server is not supported? It sure is supported on any other distribution, is Ubuntu an exception?

If it is, then docs need a refresh, I think.

Thanks, best regards.

Yeah, that statement ("Although it cannot act as an Active Directory Primary Domain Controller (PDC), ") is incorrect and should be removed. The paragraph can start with "A Samba server can be configured to appear ...".

I don't think there is a section in the guide talking about how to configure samba4 as an Active Directory Domain Controller (samba-ad-dc).
