make showmouse use Guide instead of Emitters by default?

Hello,
The "Emitters" effect is nice, but in practice we have found the Guides to be way more effective for the purpose of locating the mouse. Probably Guides should be thus enabled by default instead of Emitters? I'll push a branch proposing a patch.
