Bug Description
I tried to install Ubuntu 5.04 under a VMware virtual machine with an emulated BusLogic SCSI controller.
The BusLogic module was not inserted by hd_detect, and I was told there were no block devices available for
partitioning. Luckily, I was able to hit Alt-F2 and 'modprobe BusLogic' and the emulated SCSI disks showed up
just fine.
It looks like the device is in the PCI table, but the BusLogic driver is not loaded for some reason. Here's the
relevant output from lspci and lspci -n:
0000:00:10.0 SCSI storage controller: BusLogic BT-946C (BA80C30) [MultiMaster 10] (rev 01)
0000:00:10.0 0100: 104b:1040 (rev 01)

In Breezy this bug exists, albeit in a different form.
You can install the first stage correctly but when the system reboots it gives the following error:
Unable to find volume group "sda1"
ALERT! /dev/sda1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
I have tried doing modprobe BusLogic and then exec /init with no luck (get the same error).
