Thunderbird 1:52.4.0+build1-0ubuntu1 broken user interface

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I confirm the bug on Ubuntu 17.10, XOrg, Xfce.

Confirm on Ubuntu Mate 17.10 Beta 1, 32bit and 64bit. Screenshot of full window attached.

Not reproducing that here. What addons do you have installed?

Happening for me even with all add-ons disabled.

Addd-ons, all disabled: Enigmail, ImportExportTools and Messaging Menu and Unity Launcher integration. Makes no difference.

Confirming on Ubuntu 17.10, default session (Gnome on waylnad).

Works fine in latest 1:52.4.0+build1-0ubuntu2! :)

Solved for me on both 32bit and 64bit boxes, well done on fast response!

But, on the 34bit box the side bar icon continues to throb even after TB has been closed.

Preferences > Security still doesn't show tabs correctly.

Looks fine to me in 1:52.4.0+build1-0ubuntu2. I see the tabs just as they are in the other pref panes.

Even if not, it would be a highly localised and minor problem, not at all like the completely broken, unusable user interface, with large parts missing or unstable, that we had as of the original bug report. So it looks like a new issue. Possibly theme related?

I am using the default Ubuntu and TB theming.

Wondering why I am affected and you not unless you changed the theme.

I'm using the Arc theme across the desktop, but no Thunderbird theme (or rather, the default).

Rachel, can you reproduce the problem if you switch Arc for the default Ubuntu theme?

Yes, I see what you see: the borders around the tabs are missing. Not just on the Security prefpane, on all of them, that have tabs.

But that's all that's wrong. (Or at least all that's obviously wrong.) So while I can corroborate you, I think it's a different error and should have a separate bug report. This bug was for the whole user interface falling apart, rendering the application unusable, and has been fixed.
