Bug Description

Xsane opens as usual, and correctly my epson perfection 1200 photo scanner, but
when I try to scan (or get a preview) xsane hangs for a minute or two, then
gives an error "Error during read: Error during device I/O".
I have checked the scanner on another PC, works perfectly. I have reinstalled
all the xsane bits using synaptic. I have also rebooted, and tried running xsane
as root, also checked the USB cable and port. Still the same.

Hi

I got an Epson perfection 2480 and xsane doesn't work any longer.
It used to work fine in Hoary, but I upgraded this week end to Breezy and it
doesn't work any longer.

When plugin the device, I got:
usb 3-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
usb 3-6: device descriptor read/64, error -71

However, sane-find-scanner says:
[...]
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x0121 [EPSON Scanner]) at
libusb:003:004
[...]

Starting xsane as root says it doesn't find a scanner so I guess it's not a
permission trouble.
I checked that the firmware was always there and that configuration points on it
which is the case.
