Bug Description

ext3 partitions should be mounted with relatime/noatime for everyone to reduce unnessary disk activity, prevent useless unparking of harddisk heads for laptop users and increase performance (reading from disk or cache means writing to disk to update atime).

I guess this might call for a blueprint? It should be discussed with the kernel team also. Can you please write a blueprint specification, and then post on devel-discuss or kernel-team?

I for one would welcome this change.

This was discussed briefly a while ago, and decided to use relatime by default, but I'm not sure if there was some installer component which lacked support.
