Bug Description

The Pidgin package cannot be installed using the Gnome Software application because it's missing the needed metadata.

The "X-MessagingMenu-UsesChatSection=true" line is duplicated in the pidgin.desktop file.

Thanks, it looks like the AppStream metadata are now correct. But I'm still unable to find Pidgin using the Gnome Software application.

It looks like it's probably some multiarch-related issue. Maybe a bug in the AppStream metadata generator?

It's broken again in Zesty. Looks to be another appstream generator issue this time (the icon file is there, but in the pidgin-data package, not the main one).
