Bug Description
Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox
Hi guys. i apologise for my english.
i'm using french versions of firefox and ubuntu.
yesterday (18 october 2007) i updated ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10.
I have 30 seconds of freeze every 10 seconds. So i'm using opera now. I searched on the web and some people have the same problem than me but no solution.
I still have the same problem with firefox since 7.04 too: "Rechercher des mises à jour" ("search for updates") is not available (writed in grey)
My version is still 2.0.0.6. with no hope to be updated one day.
There are 2.0.0.7 and 2.0.0.8 out at this moment. I don't understand what happended to my firefox.
in about:config, i see the line "app.update.auto" is locked and set to false. And i don't know how to change it.
hope you find and fix the problem.
Best regards
Seb
Please start Firefox from the command line with "LC_ALL=C firefox". Are you talking about the menu item "Help - Check for Updates" being greyed out? That of course is to be expected. It is ubuntu's responsibility to install the latest version of firefox on your system. That is what a packaged distro is about.
