That's because the gsettings schemas key got dropped in the g-s-d 3.18 update

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-settings-daemon - 3.18.2-0ubuntu3

gnome-settings-daemon (3.18.2-0ubuntu3) xenial; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/revert-gsettings-removals.patch:
    - restore cursor plugin schemas as well, also dropped by error in
      the 3.18 update it seems ... but still needed by u-s-d (lp: #1526181)
