Bug Description

Hi.

I'm trying to fix the locale of a system where I just installed wily and I'm getting the "unsupported locale setting" as in the subject.

I had a problem with the installation CD with something related to the language settings, but I thought that it would very simple to fix this without going to the command line.

If any extra information is needed, please let me know.

Rogério Brito.

Your locale is broken. Somehow you have set the LANG variable to "pt_BR:pt:en", which is an invalid value. Given the other locale related variables, it should reasonably be "pt_BR.UTF-8". Probably the invalid setting is in /etc/default/locale or ~/.pam_environment.

Do you possibly have an idea how that happened?

Another Brazilian user reported the same odd locale error recently - see comment #150 in bug #518056. Coincidence?
