Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.

I get the same error message when attempting to run gnome-maps 3.16.2-1 on Ubuntu Wily. I checked with the changelog for the latest version available in Debian [1] and found a corresponding bug report [2]. In order to fix that, they added several dependencies, among others gir1.2-gweather-3.0.

After installing gir1.2-gweather-3.0 (I had the two other dependencies already installed), gnome-maps now starts and appears to work. I believe that applying the same fix to the Ubuntu package should resolve this issue, so I will prepare a patch.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-maps - 3.16.2-1ubuntu1

---------------
gnome-maps (3.16.2-1ubuntu1) wily; urgency=medium

  * Add missing dependencies on gir1.2-gweather-3.0, gir1.2-rest-0.7 and
    gir1.2-soup-2.4. (Fixes LP: #1507295)
Note that this fix is included in 3.18.1-2 (in fact it is taken from
    https://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-gnome?view=revision&revision=46488)
so it will be possible to sync this package from Debian for Ubuntu X.

Hi Giovanni

Based on the error message you posted, this seems to be an unrelated issue. The original bug here was that Gweather (and other dependencies) wasn't present, but yours looks to be some component which has been defined twice. It would be great if you could file a separate bug report on this, either via the automatic crash dialog which pops up or `ubuntu-bug gnome-maps`. :)
