Bug Description

This issue occurs with the Kubuntu 7.10 Beta current as of 2007-09-27, which includes KMyFirewall 1.0.

When trying to activate an IPTables configuration created using the Generic Interface, the following error appears - irrespective of whether I have started KMyFirewall as root (where an 'su' should not be required) or unprivileged user:

-- 8< --
Error: kdesu: Unknown option '-t'.
Error: kdesu: Use --help to get a list of available command line options.

Execution failed
Exit(Code): 254
-- 8< --

OK, it appears that I have successfully patched this bug, and my patch is included. Can the MOTU's please test and commit this?

I decided that I should attach the whole source file too, because I don't know if that patch was valid or not...

So here's the entire source file. Replacing the file with this one fixed the bug for me.

Just installed this today and I am getting the same error. Had it on a pre-release version of Gutsy with no problems...

Here's my working package. It seems they haven't picked up my fix (or anyone else's), but I hope this deb helps you. :)

Here is the complete source code for those who want/need to build it for architectures other than i386. Just untar it and then do a dpkg-source -x kmyfirewall_1.0-1ubuntu4amy1.dsc

Then you can sudo dpkg-buildpackage and you should have the debs (provided the build deps are satisfied).

I hope this is useful. I didn't really make many changes to the changelog--I just hacked the latest entry to change the version number because I didn't want my package being "upgraded" with the official one unless they release an update.

Bug confirmed on KMyFirewall 1.0 on Kubuntu 7.10 on 27-Dec-2007. Amy's patch resolved the issue. Thanks Amy, and the compiled package was much appreciated :D
