Gnome Screensaver is Missing Option To Leave A Message

please file a whishlist bug upstream in the gnome bugtracker for the missing UI elements.
we ship what upstream gives us, which currently is only a gconf key you can set with the string for the away message (/apps/gnome-screensaver/away_message)

Oliver, I think you missunderstand this bug. The gconf-setting you mention is to set an away message explaining why you are away from your computer. This bug is about the feature where other people can leave you a message when the screen is locked, then when you unlock the screen these messages are shown to you.

is it bullt with libnotify support? I don't see libnotify-dev in the builddeps.

can you point me to any gnome-screensaver upstream ChangeLog entry that remotely indicates such a feature in gnome-screensaver ?

and describe the feature i mentioned above, i think you misunderstood the gnome release notes.

re-opening there's was a missing Build-Depends on libnotify
