The title of this bug is 'MRE', but it's not obvious to me how this is covered by the existing micro-release exceptions. tracker is a core dependency of GNOME, but its versioning doesn't appear to correspond to GNOME upstream versioning. Can someone please explain here how tracker 1.0.6 fits the existing GNOME MRE?

Also, this bug has not been marked as fixed for the devel version of Ubuntu. vivid has a newer version than utopic - are all of the bugfixes from tracker 1.0.6 also included in 1.2.4?

Steve, not all GNOME components follow the 3.x versioning (glib, gobject-introspection and clutter are just a few examples) , but given its a core component of GNOME it should be covered by MRE, and it is contained in the official release notes: ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/core/3.14/3.14.2/NEWS

All the bugfixes in 1.0.6 are cherry-picked from 1.2.4 branch, so yes they are already in vivid.

Hello Tim, or anyone else affected,

Accepted tracker into utopic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/1.0.6-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!
