Bug Description

[ Description ]

Cannot connect to servers with SSLv3 disabled, with a message "Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s)."

[ QA ]

Try to connect to a server with SSLv3 disabled and see if you can retrieve mail (and that it errors before the update).

[ Regression potential ]

Might enable a different set of SSL/TLS versions, check with different servers.

[ Original report ]

Evolution developers asked me to relay that there is a fix to this issue available, please see

Hello Ted, or anyone else affected,

Accepted evolution-data-server into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-data-server/3.10.4-0ubuntu1.4 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

It clearly addresses the issue, we can now connect to IMAP via TLS protocols and SSLv3 disabled.

Thank you

I just installed 3.10.4-0ubuntu1.5 from proposed and it does indeed fix the issue for me - IMAP over TLS to port 993 is now working (as opposed to STARTTLS, which I've not tested as I don't have a server to test against but presume is also now working). Thanks.

Hi... is there a reason the fix hasn't been released for 14.04 LTS yet?
