Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, in the gnome environment in the power management I set to put the display in sleep mode after 6 minutes. This worked until i activated the screen saver.
The settings are:

- screen saver after 5 minutes
- monitor in sleep mode after 6 minutes

I waited more than a quarter but the display doesn't go in sleep mode.
To solve the problem i have to disable the screen saver.
My monitor is an EIZO FlexScan L997.

Edit:

The same problem appear also in de KDE enviroment.

This happens on Hardy, 8.04, with the latest updates as of 03/19/2008. My settings are 10 minutes for screensaver, 15 minutes for monitor to sleep. Hours later, the screensaver is still active.

I have a similar problem. After boot it works, screen is shut-off after configured time-out. But after a few hours it stops working. Screen is not shut-off after time-out. Manually using "> xset dpms force standby/suspend/off" always works.
Currently using Ubuntu 8.04, but I have had this problem on previous versions as well. What should I provide to get someone working on this?

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?

I cannot reproduce it with Intrepid. It seems to be fixed.
