Bug Description

CID: 201306-13745 HP Probook 6570b

This system was certified with 12.04.2 [1], but the brightness does not work on 12.04.5
The brightness level indicator would change with hotkey events, but the brightness itself does not.

Kernel parameter "video.use_native_backlight=1", "acpi_backlight=vendor" could make it work

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-trusty' to 'verification-done-trusty'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Verified with Trusty -proposed on 201306-13745, brightness control works as expected.

Verified with Utopic stock image on 201306-13745, it works (as expected, since the brightness control is different on 3.16 kernel), I think we can safely drop this patch for Utopic.
