Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base

There's a one-line decodebin patch you might want to ship with the ubuntu gutsy package of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base to avoid problems with the automatic codec installation in certain situations:

I can confirm it breaks mp3 playing, do you need extra informations?

No, thanks. I can reproduce this (with the gutsy packages). It's a bug somewhere else, I suspect in the mp3parse plugin in -ugly. It doesn't happen with gstreamer CVS because of this fix to id3demux in gst-plugins-good CVS:

 http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-good/gst/id3demux/gstid3demux.c?r1=1.29&r2=1.30

which does make things work again, but I'm not convinced it's ultimately the right thing to do, it seems to just cover up problems elsewhere.

Will investigate some more ..
