This happened here for kitchensync 3.5.7-1ubuntu3 => 3.5.7enterprise20070810-0ubuntu2.

It seems like it should replace/conflict with ksync - at least ksync is not installable anymore.

I've fixed it here by uninstalling ksync and then using "apt-get install -f".

There is an additional conflict with libqopensync0.
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libqopensync.so.0.0.0', which is also in package libqopensync0

apt-get remove libqopensync0 && apt-get -f install fixed it.

Is this kind of error to be expected during the unstable time leading up to a release?

I solved this by uninstalling ksync, then upgrading again to install the kitchensync update.

I'm going to create a debdiff to conflict on said two packages.

Bart, I could not find libqopensync0 at http://packages.ubuntu.com/ (in any previous Ubuntu release).
Any idea where the package comes from?

I've not added libqopensync0, because I could not find any trace in the official package lists about it.

I'm not sure about adding "Provides" either. I don't think it's appropriate to pollute the "virtual package namespace".

Probably from some custom repo that I used and forgot about, never mind.

Looks like this is already in - but this package isnt created anymore regardless.

Sarah,
There's no "Conflicts/Replaces: ksync" for the kitchensync package in kdepim-3.5.7enterprise20070926.
Also, what do you mean with "this package isn't created anymore"? kitchensync still gets created..

I've installed kitchensync version 3.5.6-0ubuntu6 but it doesn't seem to create a /usr/share/apps/ksync/ksyncui.rc . Further investigation reveals that this file is created by the ksync package which isn't mentioned in the test case anywhere.

After installing ksync and kitchensync version 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu6 and then trying to install kitchensync version 4:3.5.7enterprise20070926-0ubuntu2 I was able to recreate the bug. After enabling proposed and installing 4:3.5.7enterprise20070926-0ubuntu2.1 I no longer experienced the bug.
