Bug Description

After last upgrade of Gutsy date format in polish locale was changed from:
20 sie 2007 to 20 VIII 2007

It is very unusuall in Poland to use roman number formonth names.
The more common is the usuall three letter month acronyms like "lip", "sie" etc. like it was up to today.
Why it was changed to these strange roman numbers?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Seems to be an upstream issue. The glibc source has set the abmonth values to roman numerals for the pl_PL locale.

langpack-locales (2.6.1-1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Move to non-native packaging, now that we maintain our locales as patches
    relative to glibc upstream.
  * Add debian/patches/pl_PL_dateformat.patch: Fix Polish date format. Thanks
to Arne Goetje for the patch! (LP: #133667)
