my-weather-indicator blocks suspend / standby on Ubuntu 14.04

I have set up a fresh copy of Ubuntu 14.04 on a Lenovo W540 notebook.
With my-weather-indicator (Yahoo service) running the system would not go to sleep. The screen goes back and doesn't come back, need to hard reset the system.

Stopping my-weather-indicator immediately solves the problem, computer goes to sleep as it should.

This problem did not occur with Ubuntu 13.10 on the same computer.
