tiff3 not available in 14.04 for installing canon printer driver

Bug Description

One canon printer driver that works with ubuntu 12.04 does not work with ubuntu 14.04.
Error messages appear trying to install well known canon printer driver.

The printer drivers is :
Canon Inkjet Printer Driver for Linux: cnijfilter-mg5100series-3.40-1-deb.tar.gz

libtiff4 is not available in 14.04 and not available for 14.04

How to proceed from here ?

I would have expected the target of this bug to be rather tiff or tiff3 than cups.
