Thanks, that looks mostly fine, I guess you started from ubuntu-keyring and tweaked it?

Some small comments:

- you have a "changelog" out of the debian directory which doesn't seem to be useful, is that a leftover?

- you have support for an udeb commented ... if you need it, it should be uncommented. If you don't need one you should simply clear the lines. Or do you keep it this way because it's the easier way to enable it later?

Those are not stoppers for the upload, but please fix them for the next update. We need the ffe approved before that can be sponsored though

Yes it's based on the work of ubuntu-keyring.

1. the change log is leftover, and is now removed from branch.
2. It's nice to have the keyring available during ISO generation and installation, but we still don't know how to do that properly, so the udeb is commented out at the mean time.

What is this for?

Are you adding another apt archive? If so, I'm concerned about a flavour depending on an external repository in that way (sidestepping normal Ubuntu governance and policies) and would like the TB to consider this first.

I agree with Laney. Of course nobody prevents you from having your own archive, but:

- It must NOT be used in official images builds;
- There should be no references to that archive in official Ubuntu archive.

Unsubscribing sponsors.

I think you ought to send an email to the TB <email address hidden> outlining your proposal to ask if they consider it appropriate and what governance and restrictions need to be in place.

Hi folks,

We have a rough consensus in the Technical Board about the way forward on this; thread starting here:

  https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/technical-board/2014-April/001857.html

This involves having the archive populated through Launchpad, signed with a key controlled by Canonical. I've worked with Canonical IS to generate the new key for this archive, which I'm attaching here. I have also prepared a new upload of the ubuntukylin-keyring package with this new key and have uploaded it to the Ubuntu archive.

One thing I have not done, however, is modernized the debian/rules in this package... which seems to be derived directly from the ubuntu-keyring package and uses an entirely pre-debhelper debian/rules. Since it's consistent with existing practice I don't think this should be a blocker for the new package, but we in Ubuntu ought to update the debian/rules in both packages at some point.

Accepted into the archive, with some changes to ensure the keyring is automatically registered with apt on installation.
