This is a bugfix-only release, so no big surprises to expect wrt/ packaging, as 5.4.0 is already part of trusty. A few changes you should be aware of, as they relate to packaging:
* the build-depend on libupsclient-dev has been corrected in debian.
* amqp_0_4.dpatch was merged upstream and therefore removed from upstream package
* configure.in was renamed to configure.ac, so libperl-
