When firefox is already running, and another process starts 'firefox <url>' A popup shows that says :" Firefox is already running, but it is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system"

When ran from the command line:

Does this only happen when you have one firefox window open without using terminal and the second you are using terminal? if you do it without terminal does it work as expected?

I don't entirely understand what you mean by 'if you do it without terminal' but, if I just run firefox from a launcher, and then click a link in say, evolution I get the same effect.
It appears that firefox ipc isn't working for some reason or the other. firefox -new-tab <url> also gives the same results

Hi Hein-PietervanBraam,

I cannot reproduce this issue in gutsy. When you say "and another process starts 'firefox <url>", what do you mean? Please give us step by step instructions to reproduce the problem with explicit examples.

Thank you in advance.
