Bug Description

Now that (-bug #1180538-) bug #1180638 is fixed, cinnamon session can be started. Everything operates normally until you click on any of the "native" panel applets. Clicking on launchers work as expected, and so is clicking on the application icons docked in the notification area (such as pidgin icon). However, clicking on any "cinnamon native" applet, including menu, opens the applet "bubble", and after that no keyboard or mouse events are honoured, so the desktop becomes non-operational.

This is one of the messages cinnamon emits that looks like it might be related to the problem:

Window manager warning: CurrentTime used to choose focus window; focus window may not be correct.

For completeness, I am including more of cinnamon's output:

$ cinnamon --replace

When I click on something in the notification area keyboard/mouse don't work. Only mouse pointer moves.

@crosser: Good to see a fix... but can it be fixed for the version in Saucy? If I understand correctly, installing Cinnamon 2 from the PPA breaks Unity... which is not acceptable for multi-user systems.

@aperomsik, I am not a developer, I just made and observation in the hope than someone takes a look at how it was fixed in 2.0.14 perhaps backports it.
